I got involved in network marketing in December 2013 when a young woman jumped out of her Dodge Durango in a shopping mall parking lot and ran up to me and said, “Hey, I bet you meet a lot of great people! Do you keep your options open when it comes to making money?” I just happened to be pedaling a pedicab and was cruising the lot for a fare when she exposed her opportunity to me. I said, “Well, yes, I do meet a lot of people and I definitely do keep my options open… I am pedaling a bike taxi for crying out loud!” At that time in my life, I was indeed, exploring other options after working in photography for nearly 20 years.
A little over a year after I started my network marketing business I was diagnosed with laryngeal cancer and I basically thought my life was over. I had to put my life and business on hold as I spent the next two plus years in surgeries and recoveries and chemoradiation treatments and more recoveries. Many times it seemed like there was a revolving door at the hospital with my name on it. During these two years, I had invested time and money into mentors, training, and all forms of personal development. I am eternally grateful as I was greatly aided by all these teachings and motivated through some pretty dark times during my cancer treatments.
Now, I am back in the saddle and taking ACTION. I am not letting cancer or anything else slow me down! I have resumed my network marketing business with a determination to succeed that I have never known before. And, now it is my purpose, and responsibility, to help others with life-changing obstacles in front them – whether they be health, business, or personal challenges – and transform those obstacles into opportunities. I will continue to share my journey with you in hopes of inspiring you to meet your fears head on. I firmly believe, and know for a fact, that growth and success come from working through the obstacle, rather than running around it.
